Single Image Ad
Also known as: Static Ad, Image Ad
A single image ad is the simplest Meta ad format — one static image paired with headline and text — fast to produce and easy to test.
What it actually means
The single image ad is the most basic and most common Meta format: one photo or graphic with primary text, a headline, and a call-to-action button. Its strength is speed and clarity — you can produce many variations quickly, test offers and hooks cheaply, and convey a single clear message without the complexity of video. Static ads remain effective for straightforward offers, promotions, and retargeting, and they often serve as the workhorse for rapid creative testing before investing in video production. The limitation is that a single frame must carry the entire message, so the image and headline have to work hard together to stop the scroll.
For a quick local promotion — a seasonal offer or event — a clear single image with the deal stated plainly is often all you need.
